Laura M. Tatko

Laura is a third-generation funeral director to serve the Pittsburgh area. She joined the Beinhauer team in 2019, bringing over 12 years of experience. Laura takes great pride in attending to every detail and providing exceptional, meaningful, compassionate service to all families and their loved ones.

In 2007, Laura graduated with highest honors from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. She attended Penn State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree, majoring in public relations and minoring in business. Laura graduated from Baldwin High School in 2000. She is the daughter of Donna J. and Edward J. Tatko, and niece of the late Mara Cieslak, all formerly of Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home, Inc. in Brentwood.

As a lifelong resident of the south hills, Laura lives in Whitehall with her husband, Dr. Adam K. Smith and their children Savannah Smith, Andrew Diamond and Benjamin Diamond (ages 9, 6, and 4, respectively). Laura is actively involved with her children, serving as a member of the Baldwin-Whitehall PTO, as well as coaching her two sons’ soccer teams, and being their biggest fan. Laura and her family enjoy spending time together, especially at their family lake house on Conneaut Lake. She also enjoys squeezing in a round of golf every so often with her parents at South Hills Country Club.

“Being able to take the hand of grieving families to guide them through their darkest of hours, greatly fulfills my life. It is my honor to be of their service,” says Laura.
