The Beinhauer Caregiver Excellence Award winner for January 2019 was Stacey Schaeffer, a case manager with Family Hospice. Jenna Graham, from Family Hospice, submitted her nomination and also planned a surprise presentation of the award during their staff meeting. Stacey was completely surprised and grateful for the recognition.
Here is an excerpt of her nomination:
“I witness Stacey go above and beyond for our hospice patients. For example: she organized a birthday party for one of our patients (this was the daughter’s final wish, as birthdays were always celebrated and special to her and her mother). It was a wonderful celebration– the patient was even given the opportunity to enjoy her last sips of red wine (her favorite when she was younger). The patient passed 2 days later, peacefully. Excellence of caring in hospice is when the hospice team successfully meets the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient prior to end of life while ensuring the families and patients comfort throughout this journey. Stacey consistently embodies this mission!”
Beinhauer Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services is proud to offer the Caregiver Excellence Award program, which recognizes the tireless dedication and hard work by hospice caregivers, whether employees or volunteers. Each special caregiver serves hospice patients in a variety of ways. Congratulations to January’s winner, Stacey!
