Westminster Presbyterian Grief Recovery Program Spring 2018

Our friends at Westminster Presbyterian Church are hosting the Spring edition of their Grief Recovery Support Program.  The program is faith-based and comprised of friendly, caring people who will walk alongside each other through one of life’s most painful experiences, grief.  The group is led by a team of trained facilitators.  The next session:

February Caregiver Excellence Award Winner

The BEINHAUER CAREGIVER EXCELLENCE AWARD for February was presented to Jane Barthen, hospice social worker at Gallagher Hospice, on March 14.
Jane was surprised with her award at a staff meeting. Her sense of gratitude touched everyone in attendance. Jane has worked as a hospice social worker for more than 10 years, caring for and helping patients and families through their end of life journey. Her compassion and support has substantially influenced patients’ quality of life, and has assisted with caregivers’ coping and adjusting — not only before, but also after the passing of a loved one. Jane is highly respected and is known to go above and  beyond in her mission to provide compassionate, quality care to patients and their families.
Jane was presented her award by Katie Brandt, Beinhauer’s Community Outreach Director.  —  Congratulations, Jane!
The Beinhauer Caregiver Excellence Award consists of a $50 gift card and a certificate, along with an entry into the drawing for the Caregiver Excellence Award of the Year.

January Caregiver Excellence Award

The BEINHAUER CAREGIVER EXCELLENCE AWARD for January was presented to Solomon Labwon of Family Hospice on February 27.
Solomon was surprised with his award at a staff training meeting, complete with cake and a balloon!  He was nominated as an excellent caregiver with heartfelt compassion, a calming presence, and a smile so bright he lights up the whole room. Families have often said that their loved one’s dignity was so respected with the kind and patient end of life care provided by Solomon that they will be forever grateful!
Solomon was presented his award by Katie Brandt, Beinhauer’s Community Outreach Director, and is pictured here along with Katie and with Marcy Schott of Family Hospice, who had nominated him
