Don Vey was born and raised on the Northside of Pittsburgh. He went to Saint Ambrose Grade School and graduated from North Catholic High School. He completed the Associates Program in Arts and Sciences from the Community College of Allegheny County. From there, Don went to the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and received his degree in Mortuary Science, becoming a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in 1986.
Don has dedicated 30 years to the service of families in their greatest time of need. He and his wife have recently moved to Peters Township. They have 5 children, three boys and two girls, ages 24 to 34; and six granddaughters. Don has been on the Funeral Director Board Task Force with the Center for Organ Recovery and Education, the Allegheny County Funeral Director Association, and the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association. Don enjoys the outdoors, hunting, fishing and most sports. Don says, “there is no greater honor than to assist families along in the journey of loss and help them take the first steps to recovery”.
