The BEINHAUER CAREGIVER EXCELLENCE AWARD for October was presented to Wendy Ackman of Seven Oaks Hospice.
During a staff meeting at Seven Oaks, Wendy was surprised with this award. Among the many outstanding nominations we’ve received over the past year,Wendy’s nomination is, so far, the most imaginative of all! Part of it reads, “Who can take a sunrise, sprinkle it with dew, cover it in lotion and a smile or two? — The Wackman, the Wackman can, the Wackman can, cause she mixes it with love and makes the pureed taste good. Who can take a rainbow, wrap it in a blanket, soak it in the sun and make a toastee patient smile? –The Wackman, the Wackman can, the Wackman can, cause she mixes it with love and makes the pureed taste good …!”
Wendy is patient and kind and has a special way about her. Patients adore her and families trust her. She has a true gift of making patients feel good about themselves and giving them the gift of laughter, collecting all the tears, as it were.
Wendy was presented her award by Katie Brandt, Beinhauer’s Community Outreach Director. — Congratulations,Wendy!
