Beinhauer Funeral Director – John Doherty
John Henry Doherty III has been part of the Beinhauer family for two years now and has recently taken on the role as our funeral director intern. John’s passion and devotion to extend a helping hand to families has prospered throughout his first steps into his new profession. While he is a quick learner, his genuine warmth to others will certainly flourish into an upstanding young man.
John’s previous career as a veterinary technician assisted him in choosing his current path. His affinity for animals has been present since his first dog Murphy, a golden retriever, entered his life to form an unbreakable bond when he was only one year old. John began his veterinary career cleaning cages at a small practice, but his interest and enthusiasm caught the eye of his superiors to take on further responsibilities… similar to his stay here at Beinhauers.
He was born in New Brunswick New Jersey in 1989 and lived half of his life in the central areas of the garden state. The other half of his life was spent living in the San Francisco, East Bay areas of California. John graduated from high school in 2007 and was captain of his swim team. He moved to Pittsburgh in 2010 to attend the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and graduated in 2012. John is very excited for his son Jack’s first birthday in November of 2013. John says his son could be a baby model because of “the abundant amount of handsome he has passed on”. In his spare time he enjoys playing bass guitar and visiting his family in New Jersey.
